On 25th November, we met many local young people to talk about the green economy and the circular economy. We asked their opinion on the topics and we stimulated their reflection on the importance of developing green skills for the jobs of the future. This generation is very sensitive to environmental issues, sensitive to the impacts that the current economy can generate in environmental ecosystems.
They show a growing awareness on climate change and the need for concrete action to address it. For many of them, moreover, economic and social inequalities are intertwined with the climate crisis: for example, they consider a major problem that the poorest people are the most affected by climate impacts. Moving from these considerations, we asked them to imagine ‘green businesses’, able of solving real needs and generating value for society while still having positive environmental impacts. Beautiful business ideas were born, integrating sustainability and innovation, and drawing fascinating ways to address climate challenges, create value and improve society.
